What Should I Do If Police Contact Me?

If a police officer comes to your home or workplace, you do not have to answer any questions. Tell the police that you want to speak to a lawyer first and that the lawyer will be in touch.

If you are asked to meet with police for an interview, you have the right to refuse. You do not need to go to the station and you do not need to speak with police. If you would like to speak with the police, tell them that you would like to speak to a lawyer before being interviewed. Never speak to police without a lawyer present.

If the police are trying to speak to you, please contact me to discuss your situation.
