Yesterday Keren Goldenberg’s client was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the Wrentham District Court. The court did not order any further psychological evaluation following the verdict so the case is over.
It is essential when litigating a criminal responsibility defense to retain trustworthy psychologists who can meet with the client as soon after their arrest as possible. In this case, the psychologist hired by Attorney Goldenberg completed a timely clinical evaluation of the client and was able to support his opinion that the client was actively psychotic at the time of the charged offense with medical records. Statements made by witnesses and family members further supported this conclusion, which resulted in an NGRI verdicts on all charges.
